Events and Contests

Pumpkin House

The Pumpkin House is a magnificent display of over 3,000 handcarved and lighted pumpkins that began over forty-five years ago by Kenova resident, Ric Griffith. The Pumpkin House is located on Beech Street in Kenova and has become a family favorite for guests from all over the world. View this spectacular display from October 24-31st (if the pumpkins hold out), and enjoy a variety of food vendors and entertainment throughout the week.

C-K AutumnFest Pageants

The 2024 CK AutumnFest Pageants for teens, young adults and children will be held on Sunday, October 6 at 2:00 pm at Spring Valley High School. The Queen and Teen winners will compete in  the WV USA and WV Teen USA pageants in 2025. The CK AutumnFest Queen will also compete in the 2025 WV Fairs & Festivals pageant. Our pageant winners will proudly represent CK AutumnFest throughout their reign.

Parade

Our annual parade will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 6:00 pm. through the communities of Ceredo and Kenova. Whether you’re a spectator or an entry, young and old alike will enjoy this entertaining event!  Our captivating announcers , Bill Cornwell and Big John will be stationed in front of McDonalds on Rt 60. Please see the new application for changes in the line-up and other parade route details.

Cruise-In & Kid Activities

The CK AutumnFest Cruise-In is one of the area’s most popular auto and truck displays in the TriState. This year will be held on Sat. October 19th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Ceredo Plaza in Ceredo WV. The Cruise-In is an opportunity to see many incredible vehicles and talk with their owners. During the Cruise-In, several vendors will be available and kids can enjoy free activities including face painting and inflatables. Non-profit and Service Organizations can apply for booth space at this event.

Arts and Craft Show

Come shop and browse the CK AutumnFest Arts and Crafts Show which features local and national artisans each year. Located in the CK Community Center on the corner of 12th and Poplar Streets in Kenova on Friday, October 25th, 4- 9 p.m. Saturday, October 26th, 10 a.m -7 p.m. You will not want to miss these impressive displays of craftsmanship and talent!

Tractor Show

The annual Willie Joe Ekers Memorial Tractor Show is fun for all ages. The event will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Mitch Stadium in Ceredo, WV.  A great opportunity for young and old to meet local farmers and experience their tractors and equipment firsthand. The highlight of the show is the Kiddie Tractor Pull where kids ages 3-9 compete for prizes and trophies. Whether you’re a farmer, a city slicker or somewhere in between, you will definitely enjoy this event!

Bake-off &Canning Contest

Are you a talented baker or enjoy canning?  If so, enter your favorites for prizes in the annual CK AutumnFest Bake-Off and Canning Competition. The judges will taste and view the fruits of your labor when you enter your items on the day of the competition. Come and join in the fun for some friendly competition located at 12th and Poplar Streets in Kenova at the CK Community Center on Saturday, October 26th at 10 a.m. See the entry form for additional details.

Concert Series

Bring your folding chair and enjoy local talent along with your trip to the Pumpkin House Oct 25- 27th! This year’s featured talent will be Mattox Hale and the Bobby Maynard Family Band. Performances will be on Beech St. adjacent to the Pumpkin House and across from our street vendors. More details to follow…

Home Decorating Contest

Let’s decorate our town in Fall & Halloween decor for all of the out of town visitors to see! There is always a stiff competition for bragging rights and prizes each year! Homeowners in the Ceredo-Kenova city limits will be judged. See our form for more information on how to enter. Judging will take place on October 20th.
